Day 104 - Sunday 1st October 2017

May 20, 2018

I woke up really early this morning.... freezing cold and soaked through! I was still feeling pretty rubbish but at least the shivering bones had stopped.... Lisa was up at 4 as usual expressing and calling the ward. She got out of bed at 6:30am and went over to see Theo, so I got up, took my dripping wet clothes off, stripped the bed, had a shower, made the bed and then got back in it and fell asleep....

Jack woke me up and asked me to have him a game of Fifa 18 at about 9am. I played him with one eye open and he smashed me 6-1..... well that was my excuse anyway! We then got up and went over to get some breakfast at the hospital cafe.... I wouldn't like to think how much money we have spent in the cafe the last 3 and a half months.... talk about extortionate!

We nipped in to see Lisa and Theo before getting on the road, but I didn't go anywhere near him because of my bug. I dropped Jack off at his Grandmas again and then went to Lisa's mum and dad's house to pick up the Moses basket they had bought us. While I was there I met their new 3 year old foster girl for the first time, she was so adorable..... I then went to the house to finish off as Lisa said she would pick Jack up later and come home..... for the first time in 107 days!!

Lisa's mum went up to the hospital mid-morning to see Theo and Lisa and she sent me a picture of Theo..... he was having his milk through a tube while lying on Lisa's chest; and he was smiling his head off ❤❤

Lisa picked Jack up from her grandmas at about 3:30 and then they both arrived home at 4pm for the big reveal....... Lisa was crying before she even got to the front garden! I took them both through the house.....

Front garden first - full make over, new outside lights, colourful plants everywhere and the front of the house painted....

Then the hallway - new welcome mat, painted, an new runner rug, new light fittings and a new carpet on the stairs....

Then in to the living room - painted throughout, new light fittings with remote control switches, new suite, new 55" curved smart UHD tv, new carpet and rug; the Moses basket was in its place next to the settee and all Theo's cards were laid out in front of the fire....

Then upstairs to Theo's new nursery - it used to be the dogs room but now it was fresy with painted with a new carpet, nursery suite, aeroplane light shade, nursing chair and nursery stickers on the walls....

Then in to our bedroom - painted, new electric tv bed with 32" smart tv, new side tables, a new dressing table and Jack's old crib in its place next to our bed....

We then went up to Jack's room which is made in to 4 sections....
1) music room with his drums, guitars and keyboard
2) office area with desk, bean bags and library
3) king size bed and side table.
4) gaming area with neons, corner settee, 42" HD tv, HD projector and 90" cinema screen .....
All painted throughout with cool gaming wall stickers....
He's a very lucky boy! But he's been through a lot the last 3 and a half months, so he deserves it 😁😁

Then in to the bathroom for the first big surprise - a brand new bathroom suite, double sink, whirlpool bath, new down lights and wall lights, new tiles on the walls and floor, painted and a massive wall mirror! Lots of tears again!!

I said that was it and Lisa asked me where I had gone through a pipe. I told her that it was in the kitchen and it was still a mess, so we made our way downstairs to have a look...... when we got down she followed me in to our brand new kitchen..... new floor tiles and wall tiles, a new built in kitchen and 4 seat breakfast bar (that I picked and she loved??), all new appliances and accessories, new down lights and under cabinet lights, painted throughout with a new 32" smart tv on the wall.....

The whole place was looking really nice!..... We had loads more tears and lots of hugs; and thankfully she didn't notice any of the snags 😁😁.... all in all, both Lisa and Jack were really happy with the makeover.... I don't think they expected so much to have changed.... it is like a completely new house! So it was worth all the stress and heartaches to see their smiling faces 😁😁 just need To get the little one to see it now 😁😁

We need to change our address back to this one now so we will probably be transferred to North Manchester before Theo is discharged...... so on the way back to St Mary's we stopped off to have a look around the neonatal ward at North Manchester..... it certainly wasn't St Mary's!! I hope Theo doesn't have to spend too long in there and there is no Ronald McDonald House for us to stop at, so we will be split up as a family 😥😥

When we got back to the hospial, Jack and I went back to RMH, and Lisa went back over to be with Theo.... I really want a cuddle with him but I'm coughing and sneezing all over the place 👎😷🤧

When we got back to the room, I plugged the telly server back in to see if it worked as it was broken when we first arrived..... and the telly came on 🙈 I sent Lisa a picture and she was fuming.... 😂😂 she's not watched any telly since we've been here..... I'm pretty sure it's only just been fixed though as it was on in the kitchen for the first time tonight while Jack and I were having something to eat!

All in all its been a real nightmare getting the house sorted, there are a few snags that still need sorting out; and the bathroom needs re-fitting completely, but it looks like Theo will be in hospital for another week at least, so I can get my mates lads in to put things right hopefully!

Another early night tonight.... I hope this bug has gone tomorrow morning!!!
