Day 40 - Saturday 29th July 2017

Up early again today to sit with Theo..... His night nurse said that he had been restless all night and that she had to suction him every other hour! You can end up in a bit of a vicious cycle with the suction, as the more you do it, the more you need to do it! That said, the condensation in his ventilator tube is getting worse through the days..... it's getting hotter outside (not that I really see much of that) and it is causing the air-con to be on more, which means more condensation and more water going in to his lungs..... we need to get him off the ventilator pretty sharpish! Today has been a bit of a blank.... 40 days in and still no end in sight! Lisa and I have been reading him stories most of the day, like we do everyday.... I think the nurses quite like listening to my stories too.... they seem to hover around listening lol Now that he's fully fed again he's starting to put on weight thankfully... he was weighed today and came in at 1.45kg (3lb 3oz).... keep it up little man 😁😁 Theo has been up and down for most of the day. He has still been de-saturating quite often and has had a couple of Brady's..... he has also been quite fidgity and restless! I hope he's not getting poorly again 😓 The night doctors said they would keep an eye on him tonight. He has the same nurse as last night looking after him so I mentioned about not doing too much suction; it can't be good to keep sticking a straw down in to his throat every coupe of hours! Jack's been quiet today, they have all drove up to La Manga to stop up there for a few days.... He's such a lucky boy! I think another one of his other school friend's family has an apartment up there too, so he will have a great time 😁 We stayed with Theo until about 12:30am then went to the 24hr cafe to get chips and gravy; and I had a pasty too..... we really need to starting eating better. Lisa's grandma has made up loads of food that we have put in the freezer in RMH, but we are never there, apart from when we are sleeping..... we need to start taking something over in the morning to defrost! I'm going to be a right fat lump when we get home if I don't sort myself out! Lisa doesn't look like she's ever been pregnant though now, back in her normal size 10 😁 Thanks for reading, please share this blog with everyone you know to extend it's reach....
