Day 29 - Tuesday 18th July 2017

I had a really good lie in with Jack this morning.... I really needed it after the last few days, I was exhausted...... Lisa came over from the ward round at about 9:30am and went through what the doctors had said.... They had put his morphine down from 10 to 5 through the night but put it back up to 10 because his pain score went up. He had also been a bit sick a couple of times through the night so they had reduced his feeds to 1/2 ml every two hours 😢 While we had to wait for the ward round to finish, we went out shopping for some bits and bobs for Jack's Marbs holiday, but as soon as the clock struck 11:30am (the time you are allowed back on to the NICU), Lisa had a massive panic attack and needed to come back..... She called the ward and they didn't answer (because they were busy with another baby) but Lisa thought the worst so we headed straight back to NICU. We'll have to do Jack's holiday shopping in stages through the week I think..... I spoke to my friend about Jack's flights and he said that he had booked a one way ticket for Jack and was planning to pick him up from our house on Saturday at 1pm.... I still can't believe that Lisa has said yes! Jack said he might stay there for 3 to 4 weeks..... Lisa said "erm No!" 😂😂 I spent the afternoon with Theo while Lisa went back to RMH with Jack. When she came back over she was in a right mood with me...... She had been sat at RMH waiting for me to come over and swap with her..... I'm not a blinking mind reader!! 🙈 I had a chat with her because I could see she was upset, and I tried to work out what was wrong. She said she didn't know and was just feeling really down, and that she wanted to spend time with Theo on her own and not have to talk to anybody!! I went back to the room at about 7:30pm as Leanne had come up to RMH and made me and Jack bangers and mash for tea. We ate it in the kitchen and then went back to our room. I told Leanne that Lisa just wanted to be on her own with Theo tonight, so she went home. I felt really bad for her because she has been such a help over the last few weeks and a massive part of this journey from the second Theo was born, but I didn't want Lisa getting any more upset or down! Leanne was absolutely fine about it and fully understood ❤ I spent the evening tidying up our room and washing all the clothes that had piled up.... three washes and two dries later, with clothes hanging up all over the place, I was done 😪 When Lisa got in after midnight (after the evening ward round), I gave her a hug, shook her head and told her to snap out of it..... she's stronger than that and doesn't need to start going down a depressive road..... that will be no good for anybody!! I then went to the shop to get some treats for the night nurses and took them back to the NICU where I read Theo a story and said goodnight.... he's not had a bad day today, slowly recovering from the infections and sleeping most of the day..... he's so strong, I know he's going to be just fine ❤❤❤ Thanks for reading, please share this blog with everyone you know to extend it's reach....
